2015 HEALTH CAREER AWARENESS CAMP - formerly known as Camp Med. This camp will introduce students to various careers in the medical field. C-Tech2 - Computers and Technology at Virginia Tech - this program is designed to develop and sustain the interests of women in engineering. VetCamp at NC State - North Carolina State University’s Veterinary Professions Advising Center is holding a five day summer camp for students interested in verterinary medicine. Through demonstrations, presentations, laboratories, visits, and in-depth hands-on activities, students will get a glimpse at the many fields of veterinary medicine. Topics covered include: animal organ systems-related dissections, tour of NC College of Veterinary Medicine, lectures, trips to NC Museum of Natural Sciences and the Piedmont Wildlife Center, games, and more. This camp will occur July 6-10, 2015 and July 13-17, 2015. Cost to attend is $500 and includes meals, field trips, materials, entertainment, and giveaways. Novant Health's Junior Volunteer Summer Program - Novant Health is providing an opportunity for students at least 14 years of age to learn more about healthcare. The nine week long programs will be held at the following Novant Health facilities: Presbyterian Medical Center, Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital, Matthews Medical Center, and Huntersville Medical Center. Students will be able to assist staff, visitors, and patients with non-medical tasks.
Volunteers must be able to follow directions, accept supervision, and work independently. Volunteers must also be reliable, responsible, and able to commit to one 3-4 hour shift per week for the entire program. Forensic Science Camp - Appalachian State University is offering this camp July 8-11, 2015. Attendees will get the opportunity to investigate a suspicious arson, detect and classify fingerprints, identify unknown drugs, compare trace evidence using a microscope, and detect gun shot residue just like professional investigators. The Martha Guy Summer Institute for Future Business Leaders (MGSI) - Admission to MGSI is limited to current high school juniors who have a sincere interest in business as a college major. SAME Engineering & Construction Camps - The Society of American Military Engineers is offering a series of STEM camps for high school students who excel in science, math, and technology and plan to pursue careers in engineering or architecture. A U.S. Marine Corps camp is being offered at Camp Lejeune, NC the week of June 21 - June 27, 2015. The Summer Leaders Experience at West Point - This week-long residential program is open to rising seniors who want to experience the academic, military and social life of a cadet. This is a great opportunity for those considering the United States Military Academy. To be eligible, students must: 1). Be a current high school junior; 2). Be 17 years of age by July 1, 2017; 3). Be a US Citizen; and 4). Be able to provide valid PSAT, PLAN, SAT or ACT test scores. This experience will take place at the Unites States Military Academy's West Point locations during two sessions: May 30-June 5, 2015 and June 6-June 17, 2015. 500 applicants will be chosen for each session. Blue Ridge Summer Institute for Young Artists (BLUR) - This is an intensive summer program for high school students where students can earn two hours of college credit while testing the boundaries of media, technique, and community. The goal of the program is for students to build their strengths while trying new things. This program is best suited for students in grades 10-12 that are interested in creative writing, painting/drawing/sculpting, and filmmaking. The Shelton Leadership Challenge - North Carolina Wesleyan College, East Carolina University, UNC Charlotte, and NC State are hosting this week-long program for students in grades 9-12. During this program students will learn skills to make them better leaders by participating in activities that will give them a better understanding of a variety of topics related to leadership. Summer College in Biotechnology and Life Sciences (SCIBLS) - Students will have the opportunity to earn college credits in biotechnology and life sciences disciplines during this four-week program. Coursework is meant to be challenging and is best suited for those interested in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics college major. Students will participate in hands-on activities and learn cutting-edge scientific techniques in NC State laboratories. Students will also have the opportunity to interact with NC State students and faculty, in addition to touring research facilities and enterprises in Research Triangle Park.

SAME Engineering & Construction Camps - The Society of American Military Engineers is offering a series of STEM camps for high school students who excel in science, math, and technology and plan to pursue careers in engineering or architecture. The Summer Leaders Experience at West Point - This week-long residential program is open to rising seniors who want to experience the academic, military and social life of a cadet. This is a great opportunity for those considering the United States Military Academy. To be eligible, students must: 1). Be a current high school junior; 2). Be 17 years of age by July 1, 2017; 3). Be a US Citizen; and 4). Be able to provide valid PSAT, PLAN, SAT or ACT test scores. Blue Ridge Summer Institute for Young Artists (BLUR) - This is an intensive summer program for high school students where students can earn two hours of college credit while testing the boundaries of media, technique, and community. The Shelton Leadership Challenge - North Carolina Wesleyan College, East Carolina University, UNC Charlotte, and NC State are hosting this week-long program for students in grades 9-12. Summer College in Biotechnology and Life Sciences (SCIBLS) - Students will have the opportunity to earn college credits in biotechnology and life sciences disciplines during this four-week program. Coursework is meant to be challenging and is best suited for those interested in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics college major. Students will participate in hands-on activities and learn cutting-edge scientific techniques in NC State laboratories.
